Letter to the Editor: Here's an Idea

TO THE EDITOR:

So state Insurance Commissioner Carroll Fisher, who already had accepted $33,000 in furnishings from companies allied to the insurance industry, has recommended a Tulsa hospital to 25 major insurers. Several members of the hospital's staff contributed to Fisher's campaign. This sounds like the Oklahoma Corporation Commission before Bob Anthony became a commissioner.

Here's an idea to improve government and reduce expenditures: Eliminate the state Insurance Department and assign oversight of insurance companies to the Corporation Commission. Then if we can find just one or two Bob Anthonys to serve on it, we'd all rest easier.
